“Green Interior”
acrylic latex on sailcloth
32” x 24”
1998
When I was a child I loved the book “Harold and the Purple Crayon”. I still have a copy of the book.

In the story Harold draws a world with his purple crayon and goes on an adventure, drawing all along the way. The simple blue lines remind me of Harold’s drawings, creating an abstract interior to chill in, especially the blue moon up in the corner.
I had been through several series of abstract paintings by the time I painted this piece, but I was still at work on my still life and interiors series… still finding new forms and ways to express the ideas in my head.
We still own this piece.
